Target Design MV Agusta
The Target Design MV was our public debut as a design team—created for a motorcycle magazine. It went on to become a milestone in motorcycle design and an inspiration for many motorcycles that followed.
Based on the MV Agusta 750 S, we developed our design all the way to a fully rideable prototype. More than 40 years later, Harald Thurner set out to own and ride this very motorcycle.
There was just one problem: the original no longer existed.
Mr. Thurner approached us and asked whether we could recreate the prototype on an original 750 S.
We said yes.
What had originally been created as a full-scale clay model was now brought back to life digitally, based on our original 2D design drawings. From this digital model, the tooling was milled, individual components were laminated and painted, and the motorcycle was completely rebuilt from the ground up.
The result was a faithful reproduction of the original design—down to the smallest detail, exactly as we had conceived it more than 40 years earlier.
There was, however, an unexpected twist to what should have been the spectacular finale:
The German criminal police came close to paying us a visit. The reason? The original motorcycle had been stolen back in the day.
