Xceed: Aluminum Cases for Adventure Motorcycles
Motorcycle luggage has long been more than a way to carry gear—it has become an expression of lifestyle. Few products embody adventure, long-distance travel and ruggedness quite like aluminum cases. At the same time, traditional manufacturing methods such as deep drawing, welding and extensive surface finishing make them expensive to produce.
Building on our experience with the Xplorer project for Hepco & Becker, we used a new manufacturing approach for the Xceed. While the Xplorer relies primarily on precisely bent and folded aluminum panels, the Xceed combines folded sections with selectively deep-drawn aluminum components.
The deep-drawn elements provide additional structural stiffness while allowing for more sophisticated, flowing forms. Together with the integrated plastic components, this gives the Xceed a more refined, contemporary and distinctly automotive character—while maintaining the robustness expected from an aluminum adventure case.
The result was the Xceed: an aluminum case that combines the premium appeal of traditional aluminum luggage with a significantly more efficient manufacturing process.
Unlike the rugged, adventure-focused Xplorer, the Xceed has a more refined and urban character—designed for riders who embrace adventure but feel equally at home in the city.
Just in time for EICMA 2017, the Xceed made its debut. It delivered on every expectation.
