Casco Racing Helmet
Long before the development of the SPEEDtime, Casco approached us with a special challenge: to develop a racing helmet that would help support the brand’s continued growth.
For the project, Casco brought on board Jens Fiedler, multiple world champion and Olympic gold medallist. What made the project particularly interesting for us was that Fiedler was already part of the initial briefing and expressed his unconventional requirements directly:
“Aerodynamics, functionality and all that doesn’t really interest me. I want a helmet that looks clearly different and aggressive. Then my competitor thinks: ‘What has Fiedler come up with now?’ And just like that, he’s a few tenths of a second slower than me.”
That attitude became the starting point for the design. The result was a racing helmet with a deliberately distinctive and aggressive appearance – developed for Jens Fiedler and later for other racers as well.
The fact that Fiedler went on to win his next race with the helmet made the project a particularly rewarding example of what we believe:
